Once every eighteen months, the Goddess turns her attention inwards and downwards, and embarks on a heroic journey. From the time of the ancient Sumerians, bright Venus in her sky cycle of descent and ascent, has been associated with powerful Ishtar/Inanna. Inanna is the Goddess Queen who braves a descent to the Underworld to retrieve lost parts of herself.
As Venus retrogrades, we too undertake a descent into ourselves to understand more deeply our capacity for love, creativity, and abundance. Venus Retrograde Journey is an opportunity to share and learn from this descent and ascent in community, with mentorship.

What you'll experience:
We'll meet for live community calls at each of the turning points in this year's retrograde, from late January to early April, to experience the retrograde phases in real time. Each call will be dedicated to a different aspect of the Venusian mysteries, with opportunities to learn the Venus cycle and understand the Venus myths and how we live them out in our own lives.
You'll actively explore Venus in your own chart and the charts of other participants, seeing the many faces and phases of the goddess in action. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your own creativity, relationships, and abundance through this exploration.

My Journey with Venus.
My fascination with the Venus archetype began in my first year as an undergrad in art history, over a Saturn Cycle ago. In the darkened theatre of our classroom, a huge image of the Minoan Snake Priestess overtook the screen. It was a galvanizing, awakening moment for me. I embarked on an exploration and study of the Goddesses who Descend and Ascend, a journey that continues to this day. I have explored her stories through lived experience, psychotherapy, academic study, personal pilgrimage, astrologizing, and art-making for almost 40 years now. She continues to draw me in with her beauty and power. Her story has persisted for millennia and remains so fresh and relevant to our lives .
